Remember class that even though you are working individually on your research topic, you still have to work as a group and make sure everyone is doing their part. The steps below are what all of you need to follow in order to complete this assignment successfully to get that good grade.
Step 1: Once in your groups, which I have assigned to you, figure out who is going to research what topic. One person finds information on the history, one researches the rules of play, and so on.
Step 2: Once you have your individual roles figured out then you will each go to the sites I have found for you already to start finding as much information about your topic as you can.
Person 1: History of Baseball
http://www.npr.org/2011/03/16/134570236/the-secret-history-of-baseballs-earliest-days - A good site to go for the earliest days of baseball.
http://www.historyofbaseball.us/ - Just as it says in the website---a history of the game of baseball.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Origins_of_baseball - A website with a general overview about baseball.
Person 2: Rules of Play
http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/downloads/y2011/Official_Baseball_Rules.pdf - Right from the Major League Baseball website itself---the official rules of baseball!
http://baseball.about.com/od/thebasics/a/basebasicrules.htm - Good resource tool to find the rules of baseball play.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baseball_rules - The same general information, but with baseball rules.
Person 3: Baseball Positions and How To Play Them
http://baseball.azplayers.com/baseball-positions.html - An excellent website that explains the positions and tells what they are with diagrams and pictures.
http://www.sportspectator.com/fancentral/baseball/guide03.html - Another great website to help explain the positions and what they are supposed to do (with an awesome diagram!).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baseball_positions - A website that briefly describes the positions.
Person 4: Baseball As It Is Today
http://www.electro-mech.com/team-sports/baseball/how-baseball-has-changed-over-the-years/ - Website that briefly explains how baseball has changed over the years.
http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0FCI/is_2_61/ai_81761306/ - A really in-depth article on how baseball has changed.
Step 4: Once you have found all of your information on your individual topics you need to then come together as a group and first decide how you are going to present your project. Then, as a group, look through all of the information and pick the most important facts to include in your project.
Step 5: After you have figured out what information your including in your project you will then have 4 days of class time to work on your creative project. When you finish this part of the project I want you to practice, as a group, each person presenting their researched topic and transitioning of the group members.
Step 6: Finally, after all the groups have presented their projects to the class we will come together and take the very best information from each group and incorporate them into one big class presentation. Then, we will create a 5-10 minute skit to present to the entire school and teach everyone about the sport of baseball.
